Powersports retailer, service shop opens in Charleston, Illinois

There’s a new store in Charleston, Ill., selling and servicing used motorcycles and ATVs.

Jason and Tricia Drake opened Fuel Cycles in early August to offer sales, service, parts and accessories for used motorcycles and ATVs. The shop also is an authorized dealer of Beta racing dirt bikes.

"I am passionate about motor sports. It is definitely something I have long been interested in," Jason Drake told the Journal Gazette, adding that he rides Betas in hare scrambles woods races. "I race what I sell." Drake‘s children also race, so he knows a thing or two about children's powersports safety.

Vehicle brands in the Fuel Cycles showroom include Honda, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha; the store also carries PG&A and will order specialty parts for customers.

Drake hopes to organize rides and other special events to bring enthusiasts together. He also writes a blog at www.fuelcycles.com.

Drake remodeled what was once his father’s restaurant to open his store. The dining area is now a showroom and the kitchen is the service area. He maintained the building's original front counter and a mirror with local significance.
