Renthal recently announced a new Canadian distributor, as well as its racing sponsorships for 2010.
By the end of March, Motovan will begin carrying Renthal’s entire product lineup.
"To partner up with a prestigious brand like Renthal is great,” Michael Paladino, Motovan’s marketing director, stated in a press release. “In the past few years, Motovan has invested in the Canadian off-road market in order to help the segment grow. With brands such as Renthal joining us, this will solidify our team and our product offering.”
Renthal is supporting several teams this year, just four of which are reported on here (click here for the full roster). First, the company has re-signed with the factory Monster Energy Kawasaki. Since 1988, Renthal has been the factory team’s official supplier of handlebars, grips and chainwheels.
Renthal is also sponsoring the Rockstar Makita Yoshimura Suzuki roadrace team for the 2010 AMA Pro Superbike series. Tommy Hayden and Blake Young will be using Renthal’s new lightweight alloy sportbike clip-ons, grips and chainwheels on their Yoshimura-tuned Suzuki GSX-R1000s.
“Renthal is aggressively expanding its product offering for the sportbike market,” said Renthal brand manager Brad Cameron, “and we are looking for a premier race team to help us with development of this product line and to have a presence on the race circuit. The factory Suzuki team is a perfect fit for us to achieve this.”
Renthal has signed the Rockstar Makita Suzuki ATV team. Multi-time champion Dustin Wimmer and Josh Creamer will lead the way for a team that has won more ATVA motocross championships than any other in recent history. The team will use Renthal handlebars, grips, chainwheels and chain on their Yoshimura-tuned LTR450s.
Finally, Renthal has re-signed with the Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oils Honda team for the 2010 season. The team has already made the podium in the 2010 SX Lites class with Will Hahn, and Cole Seeley has had strong finishes as well. Ben Townley joined the team during the offseason and is currently preparing for the start of the Lucas Oils Motocross championship in May.
David Pingree is the team’s manager. “The Troy Lee Designs team has used Renthal products since its inception back in 2003,” he said. “We’ve won countless Supermoto races together, as well as three national championships, and we look forward to adding to those numbers now with the supercross/motocross team. We’ve also begun using Renthal’s brake pads this year, and we’ve already had great success with the product.”
For the 2010 season, the team will use Renthal handlebars, chainwheels and brake pads.
