FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Memorial services were held Oct. 12 at Freedom Biker Church in Fayetteville for Nick Prianos, co-owner of Gin’s Speed Shop, who died in a motorcycle crash Oct. 6. He was 47.

Prianos crashed while riding in Charlotte, N.C., with his fiancée and business partner, Jennifer “Gin” Hendrix. Hendrix was injured while riding her own bike.

State troopers told WSOC Hendrix and Prianos were riding their motorcycles on Interstate 77 near Interstate 85 the afternoon of Oct. 6 when they sideswiped each other and slammed into the median wall. The impact sent Prianos over a bridge. Hendrix was transported to a hospital. Troopers said both riders were wearing helmets, and investigators were trying to determine if speed was a factor.

The couple opened Gin’s Speed Shop in Fayetteville about seven months ago. The shop has seven employees.

Employee Patrick Langley told WSOC it was tough opening the day after finding out Prianos died in the crash. "People are stopping by. They've been calling in. It's not business as usual, but we appreciate their calls," Langley said.
