SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Viper Motorcycle Co. is partnering with Gruene Harley-Davidson and Javelina Harley-Davidson on four upcoming dealer and charity events that will show off Viper’s Black Diamond Edition Diamondback.
Viper will have its motorcycles at the dealer's customer appreciation day Aug. 11. On Aug. 28, Viper will sponsor a hole and provide a Diamondback for a hole-in-one prize at the For the Love of Kids and Harleys charity golf tournament.
Then Sept. 18, Viper will be present at the 18th Annual for the Love of Kids and Harleys Charity Gala. Additionally, a Viper-only event will take place on the River Walk in downtown San Antonio, with details to be released in mid-August.
The special edition motorcycle was designed and developed for the Mecum 25th Anniversary Auction in Indianapolis in May, where NHRA Top Fuel driver Brandon Bernstein placed the winning bid of $55,000. Because of the response from that event, Viper is building a limited edition run of 25 numbered and badged Black Diamonds.
"My father Hal attended the Indy Mecum auction and was blown away by the looks and styling of this bike,” said Rugger Gottsacker, co-owner of Gruene Harley-Davidson and Javelina Harley-Davidson. “We wanted to be the first Viper dealers in the country to have one for sale and to promote this awesome motorcycle in conjunction with our upcoming dealership and charity events. We think the Black Diamond Edition is a winner and it is going to go fast."
