Schwinn Motor Scooters is growing, with two new models in its lineup and a line of accessories that it's branding under the name SMS. The Del Mar 400 is the largest displacement scoot the company has offered to date. The water-cooled four-stroke is Schwinn's first foray into the higher-powered scoot arena.
On the smaller side, the Hope 150 is a larger version (if that even makes sense) of the Hope 50. And, like its younger sibling, a portion of sales of the pink-and-white machine goes toward breast cancer awareness and research. Schwinn reps said that thus far, its Hope Scooter Program has raised and donated more than $100,000 for the cause.
For its P&A lineup, which includes locks, scooter covers, a cargo box and cargo racks, Schwinn opted for the SMS name just in case a customer doesn't want to have any particular brand on her ride. — Dennis Johnson
