Scooterworks USA reached back to its roots for its latest offering, a line of Vintage Scooters that combine classic styling with modern tech. The bikes are original vintage Vespa VBC Supers repainted in traditional colors and upgraded with 150cc LML 5-port motors, electronic ignition, new suspension, electrics and wheels converted to 10-inch from the stock 8-inch. The scooters also feature a traditional paint color, new rubber and trim, 12-volt lighting and all the style and charm a rider could want out of this timeless design.
The company’s origins can be found in the niche group of scooter nuts who, back in the late 1980s, were still trying to wring some life from their (not quite yet) vintage Vespas. It’s this background, and the mail order empire it spawned, that flavors the Chicago company’s vintage product.
The price tag at Dealer Expo showed the bikes will retail for $4,995; the company says that volume and wholesale pricing is available.
