U.K.-based Scorpion Exhausts today released a statement confirming TAW Performance Distribution as its new exclusive U.S. distributor (click here for an earlier report). The company is also promoting a variety of new products that it will be showcasing at this month’s Dealer Expo.
“We are very excited about the tie-up with TAW,” says Scorpion sales director Shaun Leonard. “The fit is very good. TAW carries a number of prestigious brands such as Brembo, Marchesini and Ferodo.” In addition, TAW is part of a larger group that’s focused on premium performance brands such as AP Racing, a brake supplier to NASCAR.
Over the past nine years, Scorpion says, it has established itself as a major high-end brand in the U.S. thanks to its “focus on design, quality and performance backed by Scorpion’s lifetime guarantee.” Leonard believes TAW will provide the focus necessary to continue this growth.
For 2011, Scorpion is launching its GP and Red Power range of products.
The GP Series (shown above) is a race-style muffler constructed from titanium and carbon fiber composite materials. Scorpion claims installation of the muffler on a GSX-R1000 lowered the bike’s weight by 9 kg (nearly 20 lbs.) while increasing power by 5 to 7 bhp.
Scorpion’s other new product line (right) features a high-temperature Red Power ring that’s fitted to the end of each exhaust, “making it instantly recognisable as a Scorpion, even from the rear.”
