Scorpion Sports has named a new national sales manager: Jon Eide, the company’s former West Coast sales manager.
A die-hard enthusiast, Eide has been a part of Scorpion’s sales management team since 2004, when he moved from Eugene, Ore., to company headquarters in Lake Forest, Calif., for an inside phone sales position developing new dealers for the start-up brand.
“Jon has been here since the beginning and witnessed the growth of the brand,” Scorpion Sports president Rick Miller said in a news release. “His background at the dealership level and the exceptional job he has done to build the brand is certainly important, but it is his passion for the industry and the fact that he rides motorcycles that really clinched the deal.”
“I got my first motorcycle when I was 7 years old,” Eide said. “Best Christmas present ever!”
Before his career at Scorpion, Eide worked in the parts-and-accessories department at Cycle Sports of Eugene, a 17,000 sq. ft. Honda/Kawasaki/Sea-Doo store. “I learned a ton from working closely with the owner, GM, parts manager and sales reps, which I still use on the job every day,” he said.
In 2005, Scorpion promoted Eide regional sales manager for the West Coast, a territory that included dealers in nine states. Under Eide’s leadership, the territory expanded to 13 states.
“I love working in this industry,” he said, “and I don’t think that you will find a more passionate group of people anywhere.”
