SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. - Scorpion Sports made its name producing street-riding gear with an urban twist. These days, the brand is moving toward sport performance (think racing and track day) gear in the premium category.

Not to fear, fans of the early Scorpion styles. The urban options will still be there, as will pieces that appeal to the cruiser crowd.

But expect to see a lot of Scorpion’s upcoming marketing focused on the sport performance options, like the track-ready combination of the EXO-R2000 Dispatch helmet ($389.95), Podium race suit ($899.95) and SG3 gloves ($134.95).

“Our new R2000 helmet was built from the ground up to be a MotoGP helmet. We have all these race lines and sponsored riders, so we’re choosing to go toward that sport performance category,” said Jayson Wickenkamp, national sales manager for Scorpion.
