SEMA will dedicate an area to the powersports and utility vehicle markets in 2009. Organizers of the Specialty Equipment Market Association's annual expo say the powersports and ATV/UTV markets are of growing importance to its core audience. "At last year's show there were more than 100 exhibiting companies that identified themselves as producing parts [for the] powersports industry," says Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events. "In addition to that, we had close to 4,000 buyers indicate that they already sell powersports parts and accessories, and we had an additional 5,000 buyers who indicated they were interested in selling powersports parts and accessories."
The new section will feature equipment such as personal transporters, motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, pocket bikes, specialty golf carts, minibikes, dirtbikes, and related accessories and services.
"In good times and bad, people are always looking to grow their businesses," he says. "As business changes, people are looking for a pulse out there."
The show will be held Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas.
