Shoei: Plant and people OK, effect on production uncertain

Helmet House’s Richard Kimes has provided Dealernews with the following statement:

“Shoei’s northern manufacturing plant in Iwate is structurally fine with no injuries reported. However, this is about an hour away from Sendai, and the impact of the quake on the surrounding travel infrastructure in Japan may have an effect on future production of helmets there. Exactly how much is yet to be determined by Shoei. As the situation becomes more clear, we will update Dealernews.”

Helmet House is Shoei’s exclusive distributor in the U.S.
