Britain’s Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCIA) says there are signs of a thaw in the chilly powersports market there.

The group says monthly motorcycle sales during November increased for all engine sizes compared to sales in November 2009 and credits the industry’s Get On campaign, which aimed to bring new riders into the fold.

The entry level sector (51 -125cc engines) saw the biggest boost, an 11.1 percent increase compared to November last year. In that category the Honda CBF 125M was the highest registering model within each style. Scooters have experienced 13.1 percent growth, with Kymco and Peugot the highest registering style.

The areas of greatest growth were the Trail/ Enduro market (24.9 percent) , followed by Supersport ( 19.7 percent) and Custom bikes (14.4 percent).
