KETCHUM, Idaho – Smith Optics is currently hiring independent sales reps for their motorsports division, and the company has sixteen states in which it wants representation.
Smith Optics wants to have motorsports sales reps in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Maryland, Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Maine, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Arizona. Anyone interested should direct their resumes and inquiries to Brady Rodriguez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brady Rodriguez, Motorsports Sales/Promotions Manager for Smith Optics, says this is a new approach for the motorsports division, but not for the company as a whole. “We made the decision to go dealer direct at the beginning of 2013 to be consistent with what we’re doing in other areas the brand is involved in,” he says.
In addition to motorsports, Smith Optics offers eyewear for snow sports, sunglasses and prescriptions. They also produce helmets for snow sports. Currently, sales reps for the other facets of Smith Optics are selling the motorsports goggles, but Rodriguez says they are looking for reps with a background in the motorcycle industry who can establish a relationship with dealerships and accessory stores.
Other than industry experience, Rodriguez says passion is important for interested reps, adding, “We’re looking for sales reps who enjoy getting outside and having fun with what they’re doing. We want our reps to be involved as much as they can. We sponsor several tracks, ride days, race series, etc., so we’re looking for a team that we can utilize at these promotional types of events as well as sales at the retail level.”
Currently, the bestsellers in the company’s motorsports line include the Fuel V.1 Max (pictured), the Fuel V.2 Sweat XM, and the Fuel V.2 Sweat X. There are fourteen goggle designs for adults and kids in the motorsports line, with eight of them offering various color options.
Rodriguez is optimistic, saying, “With the right team of reps in the field, growth for the brand in the powersports market is inevitable.”
