MEMBERS OF THE Southern California BMW Motorcycle Dealers Group, along with rental company MotoQuest, are planning a BMW Motorcycle Festival in mid-September in the mountains above Los Angeles, MotoQuest announced.
The festival, to be held Sept. 19-21, will celebrate BMW motorcycles and motorcycling culture at Snow Summit Resort in Big Bear, Calif. The festival will feature
- Guided and self-guided on-road and offroad test rides on the latest machines from BMW Motorrad;
- Seminars from event sponsors like Schuberth Helmets and Twisted Throttle; and
- A special appearance from traveler and author Glen Heggstad, who has ridden his BMW through more than 50 countries worldwide.
Festival participants who purchase a new BMW from any participating dealer within six months will receive a full refund on their $295 festival entry fee, according to the announcement.
MotoQuest said it will be facilitating camping arrangements, organizing festival events and presentations, and providing attendees with breakfast and dinner buffets.
“MotoQuest has a long history of working with BMW Motorcycles through our rental operations and adventure tours, and we have seen first-hand just what these machines are capable of,” said Kevin Haggerty professional guide for MotoQuest. “We are looking forward to partnering with the So Cal BMW Motorcycle Dealers to make this festival a reality.”
Participants in the three-day festival may camp onsite at no additional charge; otherwise, townhomes, rooms and cabins will be available for rent from Escape/Snow Summit Townhomes and Wolf Creek Resort. Festival attendees will receive a 20 percent discount when booking townhomes, and 15 percent off when booking a room or cabin with Wolf Creek Resort.
