South Dakota Top 100 Dealer changes ownership

Bill Hearne has transferred ownership of longtime Top 100 Dealer Outdoor MotorSports in Spearfish, S.D. The store's new owner is Chris Lien.

"What a wonderful adventure I have had these past 12 years. Our terrific staff has built our business to over 4,000 customers and I cannot thank them enough for their loyalty and dedication," Hearne said.

"We found the perfect buyer in Chris Lien. He is a superb businessperson and shares the values and visions upon which we have built Outdoor MotorSports.”

Lien (on the right in the photo) said that he had been searching for such a business opportunity for the last two years. "It was exciting to find a business like Outdoor MotorSports, a seven-time winner of [the] Dealernews Top 100 Award, right here in the Black Hills," Lien said. "Bill and his team have built a truly excellent enterprise. I am very proud to become part of such a smart, hardworking team of truly customer-focused individuals.

“I have a lot to learn, but with this group involved I see nothing but success in the future. We have big plans. Stay tuned for forthcoming new product announcements.”

Chuck Golinvaux will continue on as the dealership's sales manager, and all other team members will continue in their current positions, according to Hearne. Hearne himself says he is pursuing some "personal adventures" but plans to stay connected to the dealership as "SAICON (Senior Advisor In Charge Of Nothing)."

Outdoor MotorSports is a full sales and service dealership for motorcycles, trikes, ATVs, snowmobiles and power products representing Honda, Yamaha, Lehman, Motor Trike, Ural, Arctic Cat and KYMCO. Located just off Interstate 94 in Spearfish, the dealership is set to host a number of events during the annual Black Hills Motorcycle Classic, coming up next month in Sturgis, S.D.
