BROOKFIELD, Conn. - Intercontinental Lubricants Inc., parent company of Spectro Oils, announces the retirement of its president and long-time employee, Dave Miller.
Succeeding Miller as president is Alex Josefson, grandson of founder Robert H. Wehman and son of Thomas Josefson and Barbara Wehman Josefson, both current vice presidents. Alex Josefson previously served in customer relations and retail at NAPA and was an assistant store manager at Radioshack. The 26-year-old Eagle Scout and outdoorsman has worked at Spectro for three years.
Joining him on the management team are his brothers, Chris, 24, and Mike, 22. Chris, also an Eagle Scout, was quality control manager and shipping manager at the Olive Oil Factory in Waterbury and most recently was an auto mechanic at Newtown Car Care. He will focus on quality control and warehouse management at Spectro. Mike, a captain in the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, most recently was a foreman and delivery driver for Eastern Precast Concrete Co. A Harley enthusiast, Mike will be responsible for plant operations.
"While we know we have much to learn," Alex said in an announcement issued by the company, "we are all buffs and race fans, enjoy anything with a motor and have spent virtually our entire lives connected to Spectro. We work well together, have seen the success of the Spectro focus on quality and engineered excellence, and will work hard to not only maintain but build our unique and special brand."
The previous president, Miller, was a sprint car racer, tractor and truck restorer, cattle farmer and Harley-Davidson enthusiast when he joined the company 27 years ago. He first served as parts manager under company founder Robert Wehman, who asked Miller to design and build a new production line. Miller subsequently became vice president of operations, reporting to Barbara Wehman when she became president. Miller became president when Barbara Wehman retired in 2003.
