FRISCO, Texas –New collections from Speed and Strength were on display at the Tucker Rocky/Biker’s Choice Brand Show, including the café racer-inspired Rust and Redemption line as well as new options for women.
Rust and Redemption
The Rust and Redemption collection features simpler, sleeker designs than have been seen from Speed and Strength in the past. Logos and graphics are toned down or simply not there at all.
The leather jacket ($449.95) has a tailored cut and a worn-in look. There is no badging and no armor, although there are armor pockets. The textile version ($199.95), made of a double-coated polyester, has included body armor and laser-perforated vented panels. It comes in brown or black, while the leather option is black only.
An open-face helmet ($119.95) with a suede liner really shows the retro inspiration. Built on the SS600 platform, it lacks modern touches like vents and snaps for attaching a visor. The graphics are applied with a new process that results in a textured feel.
Leather gloves ($69.95) in black, brown and olive as well as several casual wear options, like shop shirts, round out the Rust and Redemption line.
Full Battle Rattle
Speed and Strength has turned to the military for design cues in the past, and the Full Battle Rattle collection is another foray into that style. The Full Battle Rattle helmet ($199.95) is the SS1400 – the company’s first SNELL-approved helmet in four years – but it still carries the affordable retail price of $199.95. And yes, those are, in fact, little Army men all over the shell.
The collection also includes moto-shoes ($139.95) in red or black, armored leather gloves ($79.95) and a black leather perforated jacket ($349.95) with no visible badging.
Ladies gear and apparel
The expanded ladies gear and apparel includes three collections: Speed Society, Smokin’ Aces and American Beauty.
