PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - SportBikes Inc. Magazine has named racing legend Rickey Gadson as its new drag racing editor, starting in January. He will direct the magazine's drag racing section known as "The Straight Line," the magazine announced.

Gadson "not only brings his expertise as the 'winningest' drag bike racer in AMA history to the publication, [but] he also brings a wealth of knowledge pertaining to motorcycles, racing in all forms, and the motorcycle industry in general," the magazine stated.

SportBikes Inc. is published by Allan Lane, who is also its editor in chief.

"I have been down with SBI since it was only a great idea [of Allan Lane]. I am excited to take over the pages as the drag racing editor. Living this bike life and being in the business over 30 years, going from the streets to the top... means that I have a lot of stories I want to tell y’all!" Gadson said.

“Rickey has been a supporter and influencer of SportBikes Inc. before there was a SportBikes Inc. He’s someone that I consider a major part of the foundation of this publication, a factor of its present stage and elemental to its future. I’ve been fortunate to work with Rickey for a number of years now and even more fortunate to call him a friend. I’m really excited about what he brings to the table and where SBI is headed," Lane said.
