LAUREL, Md. -- Six of 10 vehicle market categories monitored by Black Book for the powersports sector are up, month-over month.

Snowmobile prices, unsurprisingly, were one of the categories that saw a decrease, of 1.7 percent, ATVs and scooters saw decreases of 0.3 percent, and off-road bikes saw a decrease of 0.4 percent.

"Activity at the auctions continues to be strong, primarily due to increased retail activity and the need to replace some inventory to get the last of the summer retail market interest," said Black Book's managing editor, Rickey Beggs.

All price increases were nominal, less than 1 percent. Personal watercraft saw a price increase of 0.9 percent.

Street bikes, cruisers, dual sports, and utility vehicles are all up. Dual sports and utility vehicles are up .4 percent, street bikes are up .6 percent, and cruisers are up .8 percent. Sportbikes are showing stronger appreciation, and domestic V-Twins are also up more than the rest of the cruiser and street bike segments.
