ANAHEIM, Calif. - Movie and motorcycling fans have a shot at owning a piece of history when Steve McQueen's 1938 Harley WLD Solo Sport goes on the block Nov. 23 at a Mecum Auctions event in Anaheim.
The bike reportedly still has original factory paint and just 21,000 miles on its odometer. The Harley's pedigree is documented, and includes a certificate of authenticity from McQueen's 1984 estate sale.
It also comes with a few of McQueen's tools, which were found in a frame-mounted tool box when the bike was first sold.
At the opposite end of the celebrity ride spectrum is a magenta 2007 Ultra custom chopper built for late Playboy playmate and celebrity Anna Nicole Smith, set to be sold the same day. Everything on the bike reportedly was made to look like a heart, from cutouts in the custom wheels to the pegs.
The Mecum Anaheim auction will be held Nov. 21-23. For more details, visit the Mecum website.
