BUSINESS BUBBLING UP
VEHICLES AND HOT TUBS make a natural fit, says Westside Motorsports owner Scott Schmidtman, who brought in a bubbly line this year. “We know from just talking to some of our customers that a surprising percentage … already have hot tubs or want them,” he said. “After a day of riding they are likely to be a little sore, a little fatigued, and getting into a hot tub sounds like a good idea.”
Both product lines are often big-ticket items that require financing. In fact, many of the same banks offer consumer and floorplan financing for both lines.
Sales have been slow so far, Schmidtman said, but just six months in, he thinks it’s a matter of educating the public. “Any time you introduce a whole new product line to a business where it is not something people expect to see at your business, you have to tell them you have the products,” he said.
