ARMUCHEE, Ga. – Wednesday started the business New Year for a lot of people, but it was the last day of business for Street Chrome USA.
Owners Trae and Anna Whitehead told the Rome News-Tribune the decision to close the store was solely based on the economy.
“We have fought it for four years,” Anna Whitehead said. “There’s just not enough jobs and money in this county to support something on this scale. There doesn’t seem to be any end in sight.”
The shop had an 1,800 sq. ft. showroom and a 3,500 sq. ft. service department. It specialized in high-performance and custom work.
