City officials in Sturgis, Miss., are taking a second look at holding a motorcycle rally this year.
The board of aldermen April 3 reversed an earlier vote that rejected a contract with the Sturgis South Motorcycle Rally Board. Under the proposal, the rally board would pay the city $8,500 toward such services as security, sanitation and trash pickup, according to the Sun Herald.
Organizers say the rally, an Oktibbeha County staple for the last 14 years, has been a boon to the local hospitality industry.
