BREA, Calif. - Suzuki Motor of America has appointed Jimmy Scarboro as national new dealer setup and training manager. He will be based in Pennsylvania.

Scarboro most recently served as the Eastern regional general manager for American Suzuki's now defunct Automotive Division. He has worked for Suzuki since 1999.

“I am excited to use my experience in business development, plus sales and training to help Suzuki Motor of America find the best new dealer prospects,” Scarboro said. “Suzuki is eager to work with the right business owners in select locations who want to grow in the powersports industry. We are prepared with the right offering of products and promotions to help motorcycle and ATV dealers succeed.”

According to Suzuki, in nearly 15 years with the company Scarboro has gained experience working with automotive dealerships, covering all aspects of the business from finance to sales training to OEM-side relationship management. He started in Florida as a district sales manager, and moved to the corporate office in California before transferring to Pennsylvania, where he’ll handle his new role from the company’s regional office in Mechanicsburg.

“While powersports dealerships and automotive dealerships are unique businesses, they share similarities,” said Rod Lopusnak, general manager of national sales. “We’re glad to have Jimmy’s expertise in dealer setup and training. Along with our existing staff, he’s the right person to help Suzuki move forward and develop new dealership opportunities in the right locations.”
