BREA, Calif. - Suzuki Motor of America Inc. said combined motorcycle, scooter and ATV sales were up dramatically in June -- 30 percent over June 2013 -- and announced it would hold a dealer meeting in October in Las Vegas.

"The improved sales performance showed consumer interest across a wide range of products segments, including Utility and Sport ATVs, Cruiser and Touring motorcycles, and Motocross bikes," reported Steve Bortolamedi, communications manager, in SMAI's monthly press update.

New vehicle announcements and attractive financing promotions drew consumers to Suzuki dealerships, the OEM noted.

“SMAI continues to create attractive sales events that make it easy for customers to buy a Suzuki motorcycle, scooter, or ATV,” said Larry Vandiver, SMAI vice president, in the monthly update. “The start of our Star-Spangled Summer promotion ... will continue those offerings, with low-interest financing and customer cash back on many new models. And we’ve introduced new motorcycles and ATVs, grabbing the attention of powersports shoppers.”

In June SMAI announced the 2015 RM-Z450 with Showa SFF Air forks and Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control; and an updated 2015 DR200S  (see photo), delivering a low-priced, entry-level motorcycle for the dual-sport market. The company unveiled its 2015 KingQuad 750 and 400 ATVs, featuring better engine performance and efficiency. The company said it plans to unveil several new and updated motorcycles and ATVs at the October dealer meeting.
