Symtec Inc., the manufacturers behind the Heat Demon line of heated powersports accessories, is sponsoring the 2012 Patriot Tour, a nationwide effort to raise money for the families of U.S. service personnel.

Organized by the non-profit group, Nation of Patriots, the three-month tour criss-crosses the U.S. with stops at Harley-Davidson dealerships in 96 cities. Riders depart from the various dealerships for each leg of the tour, passing an American flag from one location to the next. In 2011, the tour raised $10,000 for families of wounded veterans. Organizers are hoping to raise $50,000 on this year's tour, which departs May 26 from Wisconsin Harley-Davidson in Oconomowoc, Wis.

"Nation of Patriots has done a great deal for U.S. troops over its three-year history, raising thousands of dollars for struggling veterans and their families," said Riley Harlan, president of Symtec. "We're proud to support their efforts."
