European bootmaker Oxtar has rebranded the entire Oxtar line of boots under the name TCX, spurred by the acquisition of Oxtar S.p.A. by Novation S.p.A.
TCX will maintain the organization's reputation for high performance at all levels, starting with R&D and continuing through manufacturing and distribution and end-user-knowledgeable riding enthusiasts, a spokesperson says.
Oxtar is a leading brand of motorcycle boots in Europe and the name change to TCX ?denotes a renewed emphasis on the technical aspects of the full line of products,? the spokesperson says. The new TCX brand also creates a separate, more distinctive identity to clear the way for widespread global trademark use. "Focus On Boots" remains the tagline for TCX products.
Novation Motorbike S.p.A. is a newly formed subsidiary of Novation S.p.A., with a focus on creating new products for the motorcycling market. Based in Montebelluna, Italy, Novation S.p.A. claims unparalleled CNC design and molding capabilities in a variety of materials from plastic to steel to carbon fiber. Novation S.p.A. provides technical expertise to many of the world's great athletic footwear brands.
TCX plans to develop and introduce a line of street, off-road and competition products boasting advanced technology and performance features. Helmet House will support dealers as the transition to the new TCX brand name takes place.
The corporate name change also applies to the company?s riding team, whose members have been racking up wins lately.
KTM Junior SX/MX Race Team rider Blake Wharton earned the title of 125cc Junior World Champion Aug. 12 at Sevlievo, Bulgaria. After setting the fastest time in qualifying, Wharton clearly dominated the entire field of up-and-coming international stars to go 1-1 on the Gorna Rositza Grand Prix track, which has been called "The best motocross track in the world."
This follows on the heels of the victory Wharton achieved in the School Boy (12-15) class at Loretta Lynn's by going 1-1-1 en route to winning a national championship. Other TCX riders who earned titles at Loretta Lynn's included Blake's older brother Tyler Wharton, who won the Fourstroke Class by going 3-1-1 for first overall, Steven Clarke, who won the MX Lites Schoolboy (14-16) Class with 2-2-1 finishes and Cooper Webb, who earned a 2nd-place tally in the 85 Stock (7-11) Class with 3-2-1 finishes, riding and winning that last moto with a broken thumb.
