SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A pair of speed demons will lead the Scottsdale International Female Ride Day event, the world's only synchronized women's motorcycle "Just Ride" day on May 3.

Five-time land speed record holder Valerie Thompson will be participating in her second International Female Ride Day. She will be joined by AMA Pro Daytona SportBike and Spanish CEV Championship racer Melissa Paris.

Thompson and Paris will lead the tour, which departs at 10 a.m. to take riders to the top of South Mountain, overlooking Phoenix. There will be a lunch afterward with Thompson and Paris.

Rider registration and breakfast begins at 9 a.m. at Go AZ Motorcycles in Scottsdale. The event is free, but riders must RSVP online.

“Go AZ Motorcycles has been a long-time sponsor of my land speed racing team, so it’s very gratifying to celebrate this worldwide event with them,” Thompson said.
