Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles has created a custom motorcycle for the 2007 Kids & Chrome event benefiting Children's Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame.
Tod and Shelly Erdman of Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles in Loveland, Colo., are pleased to support Kids & Chrome for the third year. Established to help children's charities in the Black Hills and preserve the history of motorcycling in Sturgis, this year's Kids & Chrome event will take place during the 2007 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Aug. 8, at the Black Hills Convention Center near Sturgis in Spearfish, S.D.
The custom cycle, dubbed the "Soul of a Custom, Heart of Legend," is a Sterling RM old style bobber, built with a Screamin' Eagle 103 cu in engine and six-speed transmission. It sports a flashy 35-degree rake, 68-inch wheelbase and 25-inch seat height.
Kids & Chrome raffle tickets for the Thunder Mountain Sterling RM old style bobber are $20 each or six for $100, on sale at the Kids & Chrome website, or by calling (605) 786-2039. They will also be available during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at Black Hills Harley-Davidson in Rapid City, S.D., daily July 27 through Aug. 11.
The third Annual Kids & Chrome event begins with a hosted reception and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8, followed by dinner and a live auction. Advanced tickets are required and seating is limited to 425. Tickets are available from the website or by phoning (605) 892-4101.
The organization is still collecting auction item donations. Contact Darla Crown at (605) 391-5555 or email@example.com to donate.
