STURGIS MAYOR Maury LaRue, Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Jimmy Bedford, legislators, motorcycle enthusiasts, industry professionals, celebrities and legends will gather for the Sixth Annual Sturgis Mayor's Ride Aug. 4, during the 2008 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The fully escorted ride will tour some of the Black Hills' most spectacular scenery and two-lane roads, and get up close and personal with two of South Dakota's historic treasures. At the Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Superintendent of Parks Gerard Baker will welcome participants and host a cultural performance created specifically for Mayor's Ride VIPs. Next up is a visit to South Dakota's largest and first state park, Custer State Park, home to 1,500 free-roaming bison and a variety of beautiful wildlife. Participants will have lunch on the lawn of the historic State Game Lodge, often referred to as the "Summer White House," thanks to an extended stay by President Calvin Coolidge in 1927.
The cost is $160.50 per rider (includes tax) with proceeds benefiting the Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department.
Participants will receive a one-of-a-kind Mayor's Ride Souvenir Gift Pack including a limited edition decanter of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel wrapped with the Sturgis Mayor's Ride medallion, a limited edition 2008 Jack Daniel's Tour t-shirt, 2008 6th Annual Sturgis Mayor's Ride pin, 2008 Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club pin, and other collectibles from our 2008 Sturgis Mayor's Ride Corporate Sponsors.
