PowerGroup International Inc. (dba Tomberlin) distributes recreational products such as ATVs and Schwinn scooters, primarily throughout North America. The company is part of The Tomberlin Group, which also includes Tomberlin Automotive Group Inc., a distributor of electrical vehicles throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Both groups are based in Augusta, Ga., and sell to independent dealers. Tomberlin, a member of the SVIA, has been selling ATVs for nearly 10 years.
The American-engineered SDX-600 is primarily assembled in China with Tomberlin engineers operating the line, testing and quality control. The company has its own VINs, serial numbers and certifications.
New dealers must have an active state business license and be compliant with all local and state laws. No other Tomberlin outdoor dealer can be in the area. The initial order must be four to 20 units along with a parts stocking order. Tomberlin says it provides “very intense” dealer training as well as GE wholesale financing.
For consumers, Tomberlin offers Sheffield retail financing, a four-year extended warranty and free safety training with every retailed unit.
