SEATTLE, Wash. - A new crop of adventure bikes means that new adventure-specific accessories won’t be far behind. To make sure that the latest ADV bikes such as BMW’s new water-cooled R1200GS ad KTM’s almost-here 1190 Adventure are properly protected, Touratech has released a new line of Expedition Skid Plates.

Starting at $329 MSRP, the new style skid plates make use of 4mm thick aluminum plate mounted to stainless steel mounts to handle nearly anything that a trail would throw up.

New for the Expedition lineup are replaceable polyamide nylon sliders that not only protect critical boltheads but also provide a slick sliding surface when climbing obstacles. And to make such obstacles can be defeated, the entire Expedition assembly is designed with the lowest possible profile for maximum ground clearance, the company noted.
