Triumph Detroit got a rousing start Saturday with a grand opening that played host to friends, family and local dignitaries.

Shelby Township Supervisor Rick Stathakis, members of the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce, Triumph Motorcycles CEO Greg Heichelbech and others helped cut the ribbon.

Dave and Suzanne Canu moved the dealership from Roseville to its new, state-of-the-art home in Shelby Township.

“Everything is designed around the customer. That’s why we’re here,” Suzanne Canu told Shelby-Ugtica Patch.

“Their enthusiasm is so evident that it rubs off on everyone else and attracts the kind of employees and customers who share that same positive mindset,” said Heichelbech, who came in for the grand opening from company headquarters in Newnan, Ga.

The new 7,200-square-foot Triumph Detroit showroom has at least 50 bikes and plenty of PG&A, plus a coffee bar, big-screen TV and lounge with recliners and an integrated sound system.
