HINCKLEY, U.K. - Triumph Motorcycles announces the new Tiger Explorer XC for the adventure touring market. The bike will be in dealerships in April 2013, the OEM said.

With a nod to the styling cues of the Tiger 800 XC, the new Tiger Explorer XC gains a number of enhancements to heighten its long-haul adventure touring appeal.

Key to the rugged look of the khaki green XC are new aluminum rimmed, steel spoked wheels. Maintaining the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear of the Explorer, the new Triumph-designed spoked wheels retain the Explorer’s dynamic handling and provide the additional benefit of tubeless tires. The tubeless rims allow riders to quickly resume their explorations without the need for an extensive tool kit or experienced tire fitters.

Other features include:

  • Hand Guards, 55W dual fog lights, aluminum belly pan and steel engine bars.
  • Ride by wire, traction control, cruise control and switchable ABS, all standard.
  • Extended Service intervals along with two-year unlimited mileage warranty.

For riders wishing to further tailor their XC, a range of 54 additional Genuine Triumph Accessories offers customization options.

The Tiger Explorer XC is powered by Triumph’s shaft-driven 1215cc triple which produces 135bhp with 89ft.lbs of torque. The XC carries 10,000-mile service intervals and an unlimited mileage two-year warranty.

The XC was unveiled this past weekend in the U.K, and will make its international debut next month at Intermot in Germany.
