GRAPEVINE, Texas - Biker's Choice has signed a deal with Paul Teutul Jr. that has the V-twin parts distributor sponsoring the reality TV star's new company, Paul Jr. Designs, on a new series starring him and father called, "American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior."
The first project bike will feature parts and accessories from Biker's Choice in addition to custom-made pieces and will be unveiled this August during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the Biker’s Choice location in front of J&P Cycles.
The announcement was made Saturday during Tucker Rocky's annual Sales Meeting and Dealer Show before a huge crowd of dealers and sales reps, many of whom began applauding when Teutul and Tucker Rocky president Steve Johnson discussed the possibility of doing a line of signature parts.
"I think that's something we can work on," Teutul said, before turning to Johnson and asking, "Are going to do some parts together?"
"Absolutely we are," Johnson replied without at hitch.
In a Q&A after the announcement, Teutul said he is designing a line of apparel for his new company — he recently designed a grill for Weber — and suggested that Biker's Choice might one day carry the gear.
Richard Schafer, director of Biker's Choice, said that the current sponsorship deal is one-year contract with Teutul Jr., but added that the main objective is a long-term business relationship with Paul Jr.
The new TLC series, scheduled to air in August pits father against son — Teutul Jr. is now located in a shop a stone's throw (his words!) from the old Orange County Choppers headquarters. A press release about the show says the following, "Once partners, they are now fierce competitors at contending motorcycle shops."
The show is said to capture the rivalry between father and son with en extra twist, son is bringing back former OCC employees his brother Mikey, Vinnie DiMartino, Robert "Nub" Colard and Joe Puliafico.
