DOWCO was showing a prototype of an upcoming in-store display for its motorcycle covers. The display allows dealers to mix and match. It will be free with a qualifying order.
Dunlop has greatly expanded the size range of its American Elite tire for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The Multi-Tread rear tire incorporates a longwearing compound in the center of the tire tread and a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder to enhance cornering performance and feel.
Dunlop also was promoting its RoadSmart II sport-touring tire that it introduced in January.
All Dunlop tires are designed, tested and made in the U.S., a fact the company may be pronouncing more often since France-based Michelin also became a factory supplier to Harley-Davidson.
Dynatek’s new Coil DC6-7 is for EFI Harley-Davidson Big Twin models ranging from 2001 to 2006. The company is currently working on 2007-and-later applications. Like all Dyanatek coils, the DC6-7 incorporates the Ion sense feedback for compatibility with the stock Harley EFI ECU. MSRP is $154.99.
Also new from Dyanatek: 3000 and FS fuel and ignition integrated modules, as well as the DynaTune kit for automatic fuel tuning.
Fuel-Tool launched at this year’s Dealer Expo and signed up with Tucker Rocky in March. The company makes a tool that allows Harley riders to share fuel from one gas tank to another quickly and easily. The company recently introduced new highly descriptive retail packaging as well as a new POP display, brochures and a promotional DVD. Dealers receive all free with an order of five.
Fuel-Tool has a new line of accessories that includes a Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit that retails for $100 to $120. The company also offers Check Valve Rebuild Kits for dealers and people needing to repair a leaking fuel tank. Dealers can buy an entire kit including O-rings, spring and valve, or buy just the lower O-ring. The parts fit Harleys 2001 and newer (except for V-Rods).
Hardstreet by Cycra was displaying its new Sixer hard saddlebag that measures 18 inches long, 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide for 1,800 square inches of storage. The bag comes with Alloytech Mount Brackets and a set of keys for its push-button locks. The Sixer also is compatible with the company’s quick-release brackets such as its Easy and Edge Brackets. The bags are injection-molded using hard ABS plastic. MSRP is $499.95. All Hardstreet bags are made in Ohio.
Jagg’s Fan-Assisted Oil Cooler helps to keep engines cool to make them last longer. Turbulators in each oil passageway gently stir oil, exposing it to more surface area for heat dissipation. Louvered air fins also allow for better heat transfer. Applications include a wide variety of Harley-Davidsons and 1996-to-2002 Buell motorcycles except for XBs.
The GP1-R is the newest entry into Jardine’s family of exhausts. Its biggest selling points are its power gains and its integration with the motorcycles under-the-frame bodywork that reportedly also leads to better handling. The system also offers an “impressive race sound,” although a quiet insert is available. The GP1-R retails for $1,099 and is available for eight applications with model years ranging from 2006 to 2011.
KB Performance Pistons now offers forged piston kits for Harley-Davidson 883cc Sportster to 1200cc conversions. They're available in compression ratios 9:1, 9.5:1, 10:1 and 10.5:1. The pistons are made from forged 4032 alloy, which allows for a tight piston-to-wall clearance due to a low expansion rate, dual-valve reliefs to accommodate both 883cc or 1200cc heads, and increased skirt length for more stability and longer wear life..jpg)
Küryakyn was displaying its Quick Adjust Tour-Pak Relocator for 2000-to-present Harley-Davidson Touring models. The relocator offers 4 inches of adjustability. Adjustments can be made without tools up to 1 inch forward or up to 3 inches back from the stock position, giving longer-legged (or bigger-bellied) passengers more room.
