FORT WORTH, Texas - River Road has so many new items for 2013 that brand manager Brent Ash nearly broke a sweat while narrowing them down to a cross section for this report.

Here are just some of the items soon to be catching the eyes of customers with a penchant for black. All are on display this weekend at the Tucker Rocky dealer show here in Fort Worth.

Men’s Harrier Tac Vest (left): This front-zip vest is fully lined. A smooth, one-piece back panel is great for displaying patches. Three hook-and-loop, adjustable tabs on each side allow customers to adjust the fit. Inside the vest are two generous cargo pockets, with the one on the left doubling as a holster pocket. The vest comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and its MSRP ranges from $129.95 to $139.95.

Men’s Vandal Vest (below): This fully lined snap-up leather vest features two jeans-style front flap pockets with snap closures. There is a small pocket for sunglasses. Inside the vest are two generous cargo pockets with snap closure, with the one on the left doubling as a holster pocket. A smooth one-piece panel on the back allows for adding club colors. The vest comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and MSRP ranges from $139.95 to $149.95.

Men’s and women’s Pecos leather mesh jackets: River Road describes these items as “a mesh jacket with the benefit of leather where it counts!” The jackets have a full-length, zip-out inner liner that will block the air flow when desired. There are two front zipper pockets and three inner pockets on both the liner and the jacket. A snap-down mandarin-style collar provides a secure fit while riding. Adjustable side snaps give a form fit. The jackets come with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and MSRP ranges from $179.95 to $219.95.

Men’s Scout textile jacket: Offers the same features as River Road’s leather Scout, but in a textile shell. Unzip the two front ports to reveal a mesh panel that lets air into the jacket to circulate around the body and exit the rear exhaust vents. Sleeve cuffs have a two-way zipper to regulate air through the mesh gussets. Concealed under the front pockets are multiple compartments.

The jacket includes a metal clip on a bungee lanyard for keys. Additional outside storage is provided by two front side pockets. Stretch panels on the side and under the arms provide a flexible fit. Protection includes CE-rated armor in the shoulders and elbows plus an upgradable EVA foam back pad.

Both the jacket and the fully sleeved, removable liner have built-in pockets for most mobile devices on the left side and a map/cargo pocket on the right side. A Thermal Neck Wrap extends up the neck and chin and stows back into the jacket when not in use. Additional internal storage is located just inside the left placket, chest high. The collar is finished with a soft, smooth padded tipping. Jacket-to-pant zipper attachment system connects to the Scout pants. The jacket comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, and MSRP is $199.95.

Men’s Scout textile pants: Waterproof, breathable, heavy-duty textile riding pants with a removable, insulated, full-length liner. Protection comes from CE-approved armor in the knees and upgradable EVA foam armor in the hips. Reflective tape on the front and back provides increased night visibility. Leg openings feature full-length zippers for easy on/easy off. Stretch panels at the knee and waist offer increased mobility. Adjustable waist with hook-and-loop closure provides a more precise fit. Two front hand pockets and two front cargo pockets offer plenty of storage space. A jacket-to-pant zipper attachment system connects to the Scout jacket. The pants come with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, and MSRP is $149.95.

Men’s Ordeal TouchTec gloves: These heavy-duty textile gloves with armored knuckles feature leather padded palms with TouchTec technology. The TouchTec fingertips are designed to allow wearers to operate their smart phone with their gloves on. Hook-and-loop closure provides a secure fit. The gloves come with a one-year manufacturer’s warrant, and MSRP is $69.95.

Men’s  Guardian tall boot:  Its leather-and-mesh upper is 9.5 inches long. Mesh panels provide added breathability. A lightweight, contoured EVA footbed distributes weight evenly to reduce fatigue. The rubber outsole is oil- and skid-resistant. A breathable, moisture-wicking lining provides additional comfort. MSRP is $99.95.
