FORT WORTH, Texas - As ATV sales begin to grow, the aftermarket is picking up as well. This was the impression given by the large number of off-road products displayed at this past weekend’s Tucker Rocky Dealer Show at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Products for side-by-sides remain the hottest segment, but there was plenty also for quads and dirtbikes.
Vendors of both apparel and hard parts noted that KTM orange is more popular than ever. Just one example is the popularity of the orange option for Answer’s Synchron gear.
Some commodity and parts makers reported (as they have before) that two-stroke dirtbikes are coming back due to their lower maintenance costs.
After speaking with mechanics and weekend riders, Athena discovered that most of the time, these customers need only top-end gaskets when working on their motorcycles. Athena’s new Race Gasket kits with only top-end parts provide savings of more than 50 percent. The Italian company has been promoting its kits through commercials airing on the Speed TV network and featuring legend Roger DeCoster.
Blingstar has several new accessories for the Polaris RZR XP 4 900, including a Gladiator Front Bumper made from 6061 aluminum with 1-3/8-inch tubing. It supports a winch and retails for $312.95 in either polished or textured-black finishes. The Gladiator Rear Bumper retails for $171.95 in the same finishes.
Blingstar Commando Doors with Slam-Latch System features a front door that opens suicide and a rear door that opens standard. These doors are also made from 6061 aluminum and retail for $1,182.95 in a polished finish and $1,212.95 in textured black.
Braking was displaying its Rear Oversize Nonround Kit (disk and bracket) for the KTM Off-Road Series. The outer and inner diameters of the disk have a nonround design that enables better radial expansion of the rotor under extreme heat conditions. Suggested retail is $259. Braking was founded in Italy in 1990. In 2011, it increased its number of world title victories to 86.
Classic Accessories’ Molle front and rear rack bags feature a large central cargo area with a full-width zip-open lid and a removable divider.
