BETHEL, Conn. -- In less than two months, Hamlin Cycles is already becoming a destination for area riders, especially those who favor Triumph and Moto Guzzi.

Owner Jim Hamlin designed the layout of the shop to be a comfortable and inviting space for his customers.

"It's the kind of place where someone can pull up a stool to the counter and talk bikes," he told the News Times. "I want a place where our customers can hang out and feel at home."

Hamlin has been in the industry for more than two decades, developing a customer base that will drive from Buffalo and beyond for his services, which include used motorcycle sales, service, PG&A and custom work. In the fall the shop expects to become an authorized dealer for Moto Guzzi. Hamlin also has a certified Harley-Davidson mechanic on staff and the business can service most Japanese brands.

Being in town but on a scenic route helps the business, Hamlin said. "Customers can drive up to have their bikes repaired and visit some of the downtown restaurants while they wait," he said. "It's really a perfect location for us."
