Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition winners announced

Winners of the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition: United States Championship were announced March 11 at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Daytona Beach, Fla.. The winners of the contest’s three classes:

Freestyle: Kenny Williams of KW Customs in Benson, N.C., who receives $6,000 and an HD GoPro camera from Star Motorcycles.

Modified Harley: Chris Richardson of LA Speed Shop in Alhambra, Calif., who receives $6,000 and a Screamin’ Eagle motor from Harley-Davidson.

Performance Custom: Jack McCoy of RCC Sportbike, in Grand Ledge, Mich., who receives $2,000 and an HD GoPro camera from GYTR.

The Daytona stop of the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows hosted the championship at Ocean Center Daytona Beach, Wednesday, March 9 to Friday, March 11. The competition featured winners from previous stops on the tour, as well as local custom bikes from the Daytona Beach area.

From New York to California, more than 300 custom builders have competed in the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Competition for a piece of the $90,000 cash purse prize. All participants in the Daytona competition received a professional photo shoot of their bike, in studio, at this week's show.

Judging was conducted by the competitors themselves, with the top five builders in each class receiving awards, as well as a special “people’s choice” award to the builder who receives the most votes from show attendees.

The show has been open to the public since Wednesday at Ocean Center Daytona Beach, located at 101 North Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach. The show, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., ends Saturday, March 12. Admission to the event is free.
