Universal Engineering Recalls Motocross Triple Clamps

Universal Engineering, Temecula, Calif., is recalling roughly 48 Radius Triple Clamps sold as an aftermarket part for certain make and models of motocross bikes. Universal says the radius triple clamps can crack during operation, posing a risk that the fork of the bike could separate and result in serious injury or death to the rider. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

The units were made in China and distributed from July 2006 through February 2007. The clamps are black and display the Universal logo on each end and the name "UNIVERSAL" on one side. Affected part numbers are 1025-40-0618 and 1025-40-0678.

Universal Engineering is providing a full refund for the cost of these clamps. For more info, call the company at (866) 500-2090 or visit www.universalmotocross.com.
