NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Electric scooter manufacturer Vectrix is looking to secure a team of independent reps to build its dealer network in the United States.

The company informed Dealernews this week that it is seeking independent contractors to show the Vectrix line to U.S. dealers and provide a small level of support.

"Our corporate office will support these efforts with our new marketing programs and service training, and support them from our factory in New Bedford, Mass.," said Chris Clarke, director of global sales. "We are offering competitive commissions and demo products."

The company relaunched at the 2010 Dealer Expo after filing for Chapter 11 reorganization in 2009. The new owners restarted the Vectrix line with the VX-1 (shown here) and have spent the last three years building business in Europe and Asia. "Now it is time to showcase the success of our VX-1 and VX-2 here," Clarke told Dealernews.

Clarke said that Vectrix's new model lineup for the U.S. market will be unveiled this fall at the EICMA exposition in Milan, Italy.
