LURAY, Va. -- A Virginia delegate wants to change the state’s helmet law to allow motorcyclists older than 21 to ride without a lid if they so choose.

Delegate Ben Cline introduced the bill in the Virginia General Assembly Jan. 9. HB 2010 would apply to riders and passengers.

It would not change requirements that operators wear a face shield, safety glasses or goggles, or have safety glass or a windshield on the bike.

The bill has been referred to the state House’s transportation committee for consideration.
