VP Hopeful Hubby Palin Stays in Minnesota for Sleds

Todd Palin, husband of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, remained in the Twin Cities following the Republican National Convention to attend an event where he was able to trade his suit and tie for a t-shirt and jeans — the Hay Days Grass Drags, held Sept. 5-7 in Forest Lake, Minn.

Palin is a four-time winner of the 2,000-mile Tesoro Iron Dog snowmobile race. He's an Arctic Cat rider. Arctic Cat is, of course, also based in Minnesota.

Dubbed "the official start of the snowmobile season" by organizers, the annual Hay Days event features snowmobile drag racing on the grass, OEM snowmobile and ATV displays, PG&A displays and arguably one of the largest snowmobile swap meets in the nation.

"I've always wanted to come down to this event. I'm at home here, with my friends and fellow riders," Palin told Minnesota NBC affiliate KARE 11 news.
