DIGBY, Nova Scotia – The Canadian rollout for the 2014 Harley-Davidson line is set to happen at the annual Wharf Rat Rally Aug. 28.
“Typically, in the past, we’ve had Harley-Davidson dealers here with the current year’s stock,” Glenn Dunn, chairman of the Wharf Rat Rally board of directors, said in a press release. “This is the first time that next year’s models will be available for people to see and ride.”
Event planners say the display of new motorcycles is timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary celebrations that got under way this summer in Milwaukee and wrap with a Labor Day weekend party. “We’re very excited about it,” Dunn said. “It’s a real feather in our hat.”
The rally includes music, vendor displays, demonstrations and races, and is expected to draw 40,000 visitors. This year, the Harley-Davidson display will encompass the entire downtown Digby promenade area during the event.
“They recognize the impact that the rally has and the numbers (of bikers) that attend,” Dunn told the Chronicle-Herald. “They’re looking at numbers and the people are here.”
