SANFORD, Fla. – Jason and Sofia Tassinari are counting on a friendly independent atmosphere, competitive prices and a recently vacated market niche to make a go of it with their new repair shop.
The pair opened JT’s Motorcycle Shop about a month ago, not long after the closing of Ace Cycles and Scooters and another shop. Tassinari told the Sanford Herald that left few options for local motorcycle repairs.
“With both of those shops gone it leaves a huge void in the Sanford and Seminole area for a mom-and-pop shop,” said Tassinari. “We wanted to give riders another option besides the big guys.”
The shop will have a grand opening March 15, to introduce the community to offerings in motorcycle service, maintenance, upgrades, and customization and parts and accessories. They plan to have barbecue and giveaways as part of the celebration.
“We do everything the big stores do, just on a smaller scale. It’s sort of a mom-and-pop feel with modern amenities,” Tassinari said. “We’ve had a lot of customers come to us to get a second quote. “They are liking the price difference and they’re getting a higher level of customer service.”
