A new venture in the southern Arizona desert offers locals and visitors a chance to ride ATVs to take in the beauty of the desert and hills.
Wickenburg ATV offers ATV rentals to explore the area on “high end machines for low-end prices,” according to co-owner Steve Schwarzdach, who launched the company with his wife Jeanette and friend Joe Cude.
The business, open since October, has 18 quads and a Rhino to rent to riders16 or older. They need no motorcycle license, just a valid drivers license. Customers under 18 are required to wear a helmet. All vehicles are fully licensed and insured.
Schwarzdach encourages renting the quads, but told the Wickenburg Sun he screens his customers to discourage the irresponsible riders.
“I don’t want people riding off the marked trails,” he says. “It destroys the bikes and destroys the desert.”
