Wisconsin company buys Harley, Honda metal parts supplier

BYRON CENTER, Mich. - Center Manufacturing, a manufacturer of metal products for a number of industries, including powersports vehicles, has been acquired by Mayville Engineering (MEC) of Mayville, Wis.

Bryon Center-based Center Mfg. manufactures complex assemblies, large and small diameter tubes, fuel tanks, fluid-level indicators and other products at eight facilities in Michigan, Mississippi, South Carolina and Virginia. It counts Harley-Davidson and Honda as its customers. It will become a division of the MEC family of companies.

The company said it expects to retain its 800 employees during the transition with no changes forecasted for the "foreseeable future."
