Women sportbikers head to the Smoky Mountains

The Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina are getting ready for an influx of sportbike women during the 2nd Annual Schampa Women?s Sportbike Rally presented by Cobra Powersports Aug. 24-26.

Friday kicks off with the meet-and-greet sponsored by Yamaha and featuring a bike night atmosphere at Fontana Village Resort; a book signing with Dad's Girl author Judd Weirbach, whose daughter was the impetus for the Melanoma Foundation the event benefits; a Sportbike Challenge featuring goofy motorcycle games and T-shirts to give away.

Two photos will be taken of all the women and their bikes followed by a day of riding. The Sportbikegirl Luau sponsored by NPR Ducati will conclude the day, and participants can dione and enjoy a door prizes totaling over $12,000 worth of items donated by sponsors.
