BOISE, IDAHO - If a dealer is already carrying and selling synthetic and semi-synthetic oils, why not carry an oil filter with a synthetic media?
This is the question K&N's Johnny Jump had for Western Power Sports reps during his presentation at the distributor's annual sales meeting here in Boise. With WPS' push into the V-twin market, this is a great chance for reps to spread the word about K&N's oil filters, Jump said.
Some of the features of K&N's product include a heavy-duty canister for higher burst strength, a built-in 17mm hex nut for easy removal, the synthetic media and a higher profit margin over other filters.
Dealers can also take part the manufacturer's display programs: Those who stock 12 K&N air filters and 12 oil filters are eligible for a POP shelf display.
The K&N media reportedly also has a larger surface area — three times — over the OEM filter.
Jump also detailed the company's new off-road, ATV and UTV air filters. These include fitments for Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Kawasaki, Polaris, and the Yamaha YZ 80/85.
